Happy Birthday to Me

It's my birthday today.

Every year at this time, I'll think about the previous years and what should I do from now on. Although I have decided a long time ago, things could always change.

Life is unpreditable, no matter how talented one can be, there is no foretelling what will happen a decade from now. The path we will walk, can be decided in advanced. And for whatever decisions can be made, I must also be just as ready to give everything up.

To me, that is life.

For the previous year, things has been rather unpleasant, and I shall expect no less to this one. But I'll live and move on, because I have decided to live my life as I seem fit. I'll decide my own future, as always, for better or worse. Only I can determine what is right for myself.

To me, this is my way of life. 

I'll dedicate this poem, from Ogura Hyakunin Isshu to my life, and this beautiful sky, tonight.

秋風に
たなびく雲の
たえまより

もれ出づる月の
かげのさやけさ

See how clear and bright
Is the moonlight finding ways
Through the riven clouds

That, with drifting autumn wind,
Gracefully float in the sky.
